Newstrength isn’t just a gym—it’s a community, a philosophy, and a way of life. Founded in 2017 by Nathan and Jacob, what started as a shared vision between two fitness enthusiasts has grown into a hub of health, strength, and camaraderie for Newcastle.
Our Journey
From humble beginnings to Newcastle’s strength leader, Newstrength has grown alongside its members. Inspired by the California Strength movement, Nathan and Jacob brought the same passion for high standards and personal care to our region.
Starting with a small facility, we quickly hit capacity, forcing us to expand to a larger space in 2020. Today, we’re proud to have tripled in size, both in physical space and the size of our thriving community.
We believed the fitness industry could do better. Too often, it was about quick fixes and impersonal plans. We wanted something different—a space where people could thrive through personalised coaching, science-backed programs, and a community that lifts each other up.

We’re here to build a stronger Newcastle, one rep at a time. Our team brings together diverse expertise, a shared passion for fitness, and a commitment to helping you achieve your goals. Most importantly, we’re here for you every step of the way.

Jacob loves the simplicity and challenge of deadlifts, always aiming to push his limits. On weekends, he swaps the weights for mountain biking and exploring with his kids, making the most of Newcastle’s outdoor adventures.

Nath is all about precision and power, with snatches being his lift of choice. Outside the gym, he spends his time fishing with the kids, enjoying the quiet moments and the thrill of the catch.

Annaliese is a powerhouse in the gym, with a passion for Log and Monster Dumbbell lifts. When she’s not training, she enjoys relaxing and spending time with her beloved bulldog, Buffy.

Claire’s favourites are deadlifts and bench, where she demonstrates her strength and consistency. She cherishes sunrises at the beach with her family, combining her love of the outdoors with quality time together.

Jess thrives on the explosive strength of a clean and jerk, a lift that perfectly matches her dynamic style. Her perfect weekend starts early with sunrises at the beach, spending time with her kids and enjoying the peaceful start to the day.
