I've been seeing Jacob for over 2 years now for sports performance based strength, power and speed training. Over this time Jacob has developed me as an athlete to achieve many representative rugby goals. His expertise in a wide variety of training methods,recovery and nutrition has me learning every session about how my body functions as well as reaching my athletic potential. He never shies away from any question and always shares his wealth of knowledge to ensure you understand the purpose behind each exercise. As a sports player himself he understands the stresses of the season on the body and his sports specific programming ensures I am feeling strong and fresh to perform each week. I cannot recommend Newstrength highly enough.
If you're after a coach who is knowledgeable, adaptable and will get you achieving your goals these are your guys - I've had my techniques and old injuries rehabbed, hit PR after PR and all whilst working around a chaotic work and study schedule. Not a single session has been cookie cutter from a standardized training plan and there was always room for learning more about how to achieve my aims in a time poor life schedule.. Not only are these guys great coaches but anyone who will train me at 5am pre coffee in near zero degrees in the depths of winter is a legend

I had a blast training with Nathan at Newstrength. These guys go over-and-above to support your fitness journey and tailor training to your specific goals. For me, this meant strength training to optimise performance in endurance running and triathlon. Nathan struck the balance of pushing my limits whilst providing support and encouragement.
When I first trained with Jacob I had an injury causing me to underestimate my ability to train. I was unable to perform basic movements such as running, squatting and lunging. Jacob was able to tailor workouts to my individual needs, whilst making me feel confident in a fun and diverse environment. Under the guidance of Jacob I was able to perform these exercises within just a few months. Pushing through those moments of self-doubt and celebrating the wins, big or small together. This gave me a sense of empowerment and made me realise I was capable of achieving much more in life. I have gone on to complete multiple triathlons, a Half Ironman and a 100kg Deadlift!
