Hot summer days, backyard cricket, swimming, Family time and all that delicious food! Yep, it’s an Australian Christmas. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE This time of year and I don’t plan on holding back when it comes to the seven plates of food I’ll eat on the day that I’ll wash down with a beer or two. On that note, we do have some proven tips ( seven actually) that have helped myself and Newstrength clients stay towards their goals and have them fighting fit for whatever 2018 will throw their way.

 

Now too often we see people work hard towards their goals all year only to find themselves letting one week spill into 2 weeks and then before they know it, it’s half way through 2018 and they’re no closer to being in the shape they wanted to be and they have put their goals on hold for no good reason. My goal here today is to help you avoid this to make sure your 2018 starts on the right foot, so it can be your best!

Without any further ado…  Your 7 Simple Rules To Keep Off The Christmas Kilo’s!

 

 

  1. Keep Moving These Holiday’s!  Yes you’ll be eating more, but take this free time to get outside, move your body, Stay active!

 

  1. Don’t throw your whole diet out because it’s holiday season. Pick and choose the days you let yourself go and when you do make sure you Enjoy them fully!

 

  1. Intermittent fasting might be your new best friend! I use this regularly in the holiday season. Use periods of fasting over the christmas break helps balance out your calorie intake. It’s simple easy and takes no energy to do.

 

  1. Fill Your Plate With healthier options! Yes, even at Christmas there is healthy, delicious options. Make conscious decisions around your food and remember your goals will still be there come next week.

 

  1. Eat your calories! Save your calorie intake for food and if you wish, alcohol. Avoid the soft drinks in between meals.

 

  1. GO HAM! Believe it or not leg ham is low calorie and high in protein. Eat as much as you like and if continue to do so for however long it remains in the fridge! You’ll more than likely end up sick before you go over your calorie intake.

 

  1. Enjoy Your Holidays! With all this being said, remember to enjoy yourself most of all enjoy this time that only comes around once a year.
